WOW is all can say. You saved me over $500 with your very easy to follow instructions. I have never soldered before and with your video I found it real easy. FYI, if you see "Err 1" with an 888 number don't freak out. Just turn the breaker switch off and on and it resets the system. I called the number and the tech told me what to do. NO CELL POWER problem fixed.

Thank you very much -- Soldered one obvious bad solder connection, in area where you said it would be - I don't know anything about board components but it appeared to be a wire going to a black relay. Very much appreciate your help -- Chlorine generator now working perfectly.

No Cell Power...Thank You it worked great ..! Took me a couple times with the soldering because it was beading up and wouldn't sit to the board but after the 3rd time ...I'm making chlorine and I'm a happy camper...:)Jesus Loves You! ..and thanks once again The Schrocks..'

Thank you very much. This site save me a lot of frustration and money. Clean and re solder the joint as shown here fix my 'no cell power' problem. As an Electrical Engineer, the fix takes less than 10 minutes. I am a little surprise that a large company such as Hayward/Goldyne is not stepping up and re-design this board. At least, provide a discount replacement board for those who don't want to do the repair. It's an obvious design flaw (copper trace or solder joint is not adequate to dissipate the power).

Thank-you thank you. I am no electrician and wouldn't even consider myself a hobbyist with any experience with a solder iron. I borrowed a neighbor's and decided to try and save myself $500-$1,000. I followed the instructions and HELLO it worked. Immediately I started to watch the voltage movement in the diagnostic menu. Now can anyone tell me what the ideal voltage should be or is there such a this as ideal. I am hoping that it stay fixed for the rest of the summer and that it will also fix the 'Low voltage' error I see periodically. Again, what should the voltage be? Thanks for this website.

I read your article, took my board apart and had the same burnt area that you indicated in your picture. I soldered one point and it works perfect again. I did order the part. My is 24V, so the Mouser.com stock number is 653-G8P-1C4P-DC24. The following are the part numbers for this part:
Mouser part number for OMRON part;
653-G8P-1C4P-DC5 5VDC $2.96 for 1ea
653-G8P-1C4P-DC12 12VDC $2.95 for 1ea
653-G8P-1C4P-DC24 24VDC $2.97 for 1ea
Thanks again,
Stan

I have soldered this thing several times, it works for a couple of minutes, then the light comes on again saying no cell power. It doesnt appear the solder is burnt out, so could this be a relay? If I turn off the power, it comes back up, works fine for a minute, then the light comes back on... and no cell power message again. help

Unbelievable! After being on vacation for the month of June, I came home to no cell and a green pool. My pool is clearing up since I started adding chemicals but I couldn't get the no cell problem to clear. first I cleaned the cell per directions. didn't clear "no cell power". Pool company was telling be $500-$1000 bucks. single women with children...not spending that kind of money. thanks to this thread i unplugged the cell line for a minute. cleared for a few minutes but came back on. so I took the panel off - nothing was melted but I cut the power, unplugged the cell, removed the circuit panel from outside and inside. 10 minutes later; put it all back together and I have cell power. Low volts but power. I'll move on to that problem now. thanks A ton everyone!! Teresa

Value of R45 1W wire wound resistor directly adjacent to K1?
on my board the resistor is also damaged and I cannot read the color code to replace it, if you can read the code or send me a picture I can replace it
Thanks
